We Have Groceries!

...lots and lots of groceries! Katie and I finally made it to Costco and the grocery store to restock our kitchen. It is now filled to the brim! Want to see what we got?!

Spinach & cheese ravioli (Costco)
Boca burgers
Veggie burgers (2 kinds - it's grilling season!)
Quorn cutlets (Katie picked out 2 types of non-meat items!)

Dairy & Meat:

Cottage cheese (Costco)
Plain yogurt (Costco)
Cream cheese
Tofu
Romano cheese
Cheese slices (Costco)
Steak (Katie's)
Chicken sausages (also Katie's)

Other Pantry Items:

Blue corn chips
Rye Triscuits
Hazelnut coffee

And finally...
Produce(!):

Mushrooms (Costco)
Tomatoes
Apples (Costco)
Bananas (Costco)

Sweet potatoes

Spinach (Costco)

Yay! I love grocery shopping! Now we just have to figure out how to consume all of this before it goes bad. :) You'd think there were more than 2 people living in our house!

Luckily Katie is (home) on vacation for the next 2 weeks. I know, I know, we just got back from LA! She is a firefighter and has a wicked awesome schedule. Because they work 24 hr shifts they get 8 days off in a row every month, so she actually didn't have to use any vacation time for our week-long vacation! (I'm extremely jealous, too.) Anyway, usually she eats half of her meals at the fire station so this is a bit more food than we normally buy. But really, not by a lot! I usually do the main grocery shopping by myself and then if Kate wants something else (meat) she'll go to the store on her days off.

I immediately packed my breakfast/lunch/snacks for work. Isn't this the prettiest little lunch you ever did see?!

  • Breakfast = Kashi Autumn Harvest cereal, strawberries, & soy milk
  • Lunch = pear, veggie burger w/spinach & tomato, & cottage cheese
  • Snacks = (yesterday's leftover) banana & almond butter, carrots & hummus

It was a little extra food (you'll see that same pear tomorrow!), but better safe than sorry!

For the veggie burger, I tried a FlatOut product that I'd never had before (fold it flatbread). I'm not a huge fan of FlatOut wraps, but these were buy-one-get-one-free at the grocery store, so I thought I'd give them a shot.

It was convenient, and tasted ok, but I think it'd be much better toasted or grilled. It was a little too doughy to use as a 'bun' as is.

And here are some pictures of Stella looking longingly out the window in the sun. She's probably wishing it wasn't so windy. She's afraid of any weather that isn't sunny and 85 degrees!

  1. Just found your blog. I look forward to reading more!

  2. That’s a serious grocery trip! I LOVE those! I always get so worried I’m not going to eat everything I buy, but I’m getting a lot better at that. Congrats on your engagement and I look forward to the day people can say fiance with no assumptions being made! You are a beautiful couple!
