(BBQ + Ice Cream) x 2

There goes another packed weekend! I'm so grateful that we had some really gorgeous weather.

On Saturday we went to a BBQ for Katie's brother's 30th birthday. His girlfriend (also named Katie) threw him a surprise party! Katie picked up some extra special vegetarian food for me (thanks, Katie!!). I had a piece of vegetable tart, some curry tofu salad, potato salad, and potato chips. With it I drank a delicious Guinness.

Outside we played horseshoes and drank keg beer!

We didn't realize the cables would get in the way!

After the sun went down, we moved the party inside where crazy things like shots and Irish car bombs happened...yikes! I haven't stayed up that late in a LONG time!

On Sunday we slept late and then ate a stabilizing brunch of egg & cheese on toasted flatbread, taco salad (spinach, beans, salsa, & blue corn chips), an orange, coffee, and water. I ended up plopping the egg & cheese on top of my salad and ditching the flatbread because it got way too tough in the toaster. It made a yummy salad!

Around 4:00 we headed to BBQ #2 of the weekend. This one was in Lincoln to celebrate CrossFit Lincoln's 6 month anniversary. Katie is a member of this gym, and works with the guys that started it up. I really like the people there and wish it wasn't so far away! Since we had about an hour drive, we decided to stop and get some snacks on our way out-of-town. I wanted ice cream! eCreamery is an awesome local ice cream shop in Omaha that is right up the street from us! They are constantly coming up with interesting flavors - and you can even special order your own!

I ordered half 'Big Mama's Sweet Potato Pie' and half cinnamon. Delish!! I love this place (even though they spelled 'potato' wrong :) )!

One happy girl!

Katie went around the corner to another of our favorite local places, Amsterdam Falafel & Kabob. She got an order of curry fries (yum, yum, yum!!) And how cute is the paper cone it comes in?!

Of course I had to steal a couple.

I thought it was hilarious that we both got tiny silverware with our snacks!

The Lincoln BBQ was held at the gym, since many of the members met up for a group workout.

After the BBQ, a bunch of people decided to go get ice cream (it was just that kind of day, I guess!) We went with them to an awesome local Lincoln ice cream shop, Ivanna Cone!

This place has a designated 'GaGa Time' (2pm on Sundays)!! Anyplace with GaGa Time is a winner in my books! I'm just sorry we missed it. :(

Since I already had ice cream, I didn't order anything, but Katie let me have a few sips of her green river phosphate!

We had so much fun hanging out with these guys! We don't think we'll ever move to Lincoln, but days like this almost make me wish we would. :)
