Good Ol' High School
Hello! I'm trying something new - blogging over my lunch break! I decided to bring my new computer to work today, seeing as how it is significantly more portable than my old desktop.
I usually take a really long time to blog, so we'll see how this 45 minute window works out...
So, tonight is the kick-off of my 10 year high school reunion! They have planned a weekend full of events, including 'girls night' at the bar tonight (I went to an all-girls high school), 'couples night' for dinner tomorrow, and an 'all-family' picnic on Sunday! It sounds like a lot, but I totally understand why they planned it this way - hopefully more people are able to make it to at least one of the events.
I'm actually really excited! I've found that some people dread this kind of stuff and some people avoid it completely, so I'm glad that it's something I'm looking forward to. I don't see too many people from high school on a regular basis, so it will be fun to reconnect. Facebook has been great to get a glimpse of people's lives, but it will be nice to speak face to face!
And, of course, I have Katie.
She and I went to high school together (half of grade school, too!) so we get to go together! Actually, she is working tonight, so I'll go to the 'girls night' without her, but she'll be my date tomorrow night. She is the love of my life and I will marry her soon, so I'm happy that we get the chance to share this with our high school friends.
I'm also excited to see how people have changed. I kept thinking I look exactly the same as I did in high school, but Katie has been insisting that I've changed. I finally flipped through my senior year book last night, and I was surprised at how different I look. Obviously, 10 years will change a person, but since I have such vivid memories of high school it doesn't seem so far away... I was also surprised at how many people I had forgotten about! That sounds bad...but it's nothing mean. It's just that there are people who have never crossed my path since 2000. I'm worried I'll forget people's names!! :/
I will have to scan in some old photos for you! I will try to do a 'then and now' post after I take some pictures at the reunion. Fun!
But, now I have to get back to work. 45 minutes is not enough time for me! I've really got to work on my blogging speed.
