I recently had to license my brand new car.
In Omaha, the format of standard license plates is 3 letters, space, 3 numbers. They began this format a few years ago, starting with the letter O. After a while, you started seeing plates pop up that started with P. I was hoping to be randomly assigned something like 'OWL' or (my favorite) 'PBJ' for the letter portion. Apparently they have moved on to R...and I got a boring 3 consonant combination. Oh well.
I actually really like figuring out what the quirky ones stand for when people have to use weird abbreviations on their personalized plates (GMASLIMO). I think it'd be funny to get custom plates with a random combination of letters that don't actually mean anything - just to mess with people. Then again, I'd hate it if someone else did this because I know I'd be the one banging my head against the wall (or window) trying to figure it out!
Here are a couple of humorous plates I've seen lately.
All that being said, I think it's ridiculous to pay extra money to have personalized plates. But I'm glad others a willing to pay for them because they entertain me!
I went to running club tonight. The presenter spoke about resistance training and it got my excited to (finally) add some strength training to my routine. After the speaker I logged an 8-mile run. It was hot, I was sweaty, and I wasn't able to hold a conversation at a 9:00/mile pace.
In other news, I ate 3 bagels today. I need to go grocery shopping.
