Date Night
This summer has been super busy for Katie and I so far. Between Katie's crazy work schedule, staying late at work, and other obligations, it felt like 3 weeks had gone by without having a real conversation. Finally, we had a free evening and Katie had a great idea...
...'Date Night'!
Film Streams is holding an 'Out in Film' series in conjunction with LGBT Pride Month. They happened to be showing a movie we haven't seen in years but both remember liking, High Art. It was better than I was expecting (I oftentimes find movies that I liked as a high-schooler to be disappointing now.)
Before the movie, we got pizza at Goodnights, which is a gourmet pizza place in the same strip as the theater.
They have lots of unique combinations that you can order by the slice.
I went with a slice of the Bruschetta.
And a Lucky Bucket lager.
I love the variety of choices, and the service was a lot better than the first time we ate here, but the pizza could still be taken up a notch. :/
Film Streams is great for a lot of reasons, one of which is a great concession stand! They have coffee, wine, and great sodas & snacks. I enjoyed this spicy ginger brew during the movie.
After the movie, we went to one of my favorite ice cream shops, eCreamery. Katie got coconut sorbet, and I got coffee ice cream with chocolate crispies mixed in (mmmm). They have the best coffee ice cream - it has a really strong coffee flavor without being too crazy sweet.
We enjoyed our dessert outside while watching a storm roll in. We headed home in the nick of time. "To the garage!" (We do not want to introduce our new car to hail or tree branches anytime soon!) It was a lovely laid-back night!
