Runspiration
I love winter. And I love running. But single digit temps and 8 inches of snow on the ground show me how these loves might not always mesh well.
I'm trying to gear myself up to start training for the Lincoln Half Marathon on May 1st. I've got less than 16 weeks to whip myself back into shape...and I don't have much motivation.
For a little boost in inspiration, last night I attended the one-night only movie theater showing of Hood to Coast.
Hood to Coast is a documentary that follows 4 teams on their journey during a 197 mile relay race in Oregon. The race starts on Mt. Hood and goes to, you guessed it, the coast. There are 12 members on each team, and each member runs 3 legs totaling around 16 miles. The race takes over a day to complete for most teams, which means people run through the night. (So cool!) Apparently I'm not the only one that thinks this is cool...the race caps out at 1000 teams, and it started with just 8!
Watching this movie reminded me of the Market to Market Relay that I volunteered at in October. And it got me excited to (hopefully) run it next year!
Something else that got me excited to run was looking at pictures of my favorite running trail, the Wabash Trace.
It makes me wonder what it looks like in the snow...
What do you do for inspiration?

Wow, I’ve never heard of that movie but it sounds cool! I like to put together fun running playlists, and I read running blogs for inspiration

Running blogs totally encouraged me to run…and blog.
I’m really bad at updating my playlist. I typically keep the same music on there the whole time I’m training for a race, but once the race is over I am so sick of that music!
