Book Store Overboard
Let me tell you a little story:
"Last night I went to Borders to do a little gift shopping/browsing. $143 later, I left."
Holy sh#t! That place is dangerous.
Much of what I bought are presents for people who might be reading this, so I can't show you exactly what I got, but here is peek.
And, yes, this includes a few things that I picked up for myself.
New year = new running log, so that was actually on my list. The book about food writing was just a good find that I couldn't leave behind. It is called Will Write for Food: The Complete Guide to Writing Cookbooks, Blogs, Reviews, Memoir, and More. I'll let you know what I think of it!
Also on my list was a new journal. I used to write a lot in high school and college. It was mostly scribbled thoughts that came to me in a moment or phrases that I liked and thought needed to be put into print, but they were mine nonetheless. I use blogging as my creative outlet now, but I'd like to start using a pen and paper again. For more than just making lists.
Anyway, I think this journal is very "me" and I just had to have it. I also had to have this adorable tissue paper with silver hearts on it. I justified it because we have an anniversary coming up. And it was only 98 cents.
Oh yes, I also got a piece of chocolate. It was a hazelnut Lindor truffle - a flavor that I had never seen before. (It was ok, but I've had better hazelnut chocolate.) But I paid for that separately because the cashier forgot to ring it up. So I guess I should amend my story to read "$143.52 later..."

I’m totally the same way with bookstores! Or amazon. I can’t get enough books. Review what you got for sure!

You so definitely got that gene from me! I remember wanting to just stop in the bookstore for a minute whenever we were at the mall when you children were little and in chorus I’d hear “No, Mom, don’t go in! You always say it will just be a minute but you stay forever!!!”

Oh, yes, good ol’ Waldenbooks.
