You know what I had never done before last night?

Ridden in a limo!

Yesterday was Kate's Mom's birthday. Kate's aunt arranged a little celebration for the family. We met at the casino, where the kids surprised Kate's mom. After dinner, we took the limo over to the Qwest Center where we got to watch the UNO hockey game in a private suite. Pretty sweet, huh?!

During the game, I noshed on some delicious pita with hummus, tzatziki, and tomatoes.

And sipped one of the tastiest beverages known to man.

When the Mavericks score their first goal of the game, a dead, frozen fish is tossed onto the ice and a tiny zamboni comes and scoops it up. I have no idea where this tradition comes from. (I tried not to feel sorry for the fish.)

As if a fish on the ice wasn't strange enough, we were also exposed to a wiener blimp...indoors.

But we couldn't complain about the view from our suite!

During the 3rd period I got another (far less superior) beer, but couldn't quite finish it.

All in all it was a really fun evening. And I think Kate's mom had a blast!

Today I had the day to myself, so I ran a few errands, including getting my hair cut. I wanted to keep it long, but my ends and bangs needed trimming. I forget how nice it feels to get your hair done! I have naturally wavy hair, and I'm too lazy to straighten it, so it's nice to have it done at the salon. I feel so spoiled!

If you are looking for a salon in Omaha, the girls at The ICON Studio for Hair are awesome. They are super friendly and down to earth, and I always love what they do. Plus I love supporting a local business that is right in my neighborhood (39th & Farnam).

How often do you get your hair cut? I tend to wait until mine is really bad or I'm super sick of it. What's the "standard"?
