Cheese!
We are not ones to really celebrate Valentine's Day (probably because our anniversary is next week), but we are hard-core believers in raiding the stores for clearance candy during the days that follow!
However, Katie surprised me by stashing this guy in the fridge.
"Why was it in the fridge?" you might ask. Well, she sneakily gutted the chocolate box and stuffed it with cheese instead!
She knows me well. In fact, I think it was more of a 'Congrats For Surviving A Week Without Cheese' gift than a Valentine's Day gift.
We spread the love last night by celebrating my Dad's birthday. My Mom even did a little Valentine's Day decorating.
It is never a question what will be for dinner on my Dad's birthday. (My Mom's) lasagna is my Dad's all-time favorite, and this is the only time he gets it. Well, I take that back. I remember one other time when my Dad was interviewing for a new job/promotion. I came home from school and my Mom was cooking lasagna. "What...? Oh, you must have gotten the job!!" And my Dad just grinned.
A few years back, my Mom created a vegetarian version that rivals the meaty predecessor. It has actually divided the family favorite, so she now makes 2 lasagnas for my Dad's birthday! That is love.
Obviously, I am on the vegetarian side of the table. And I am so happy that this dinner fell after the 7 Day Vegan Challenge so I could enjoy all of the delicious cheesiness!!
Oh yeah, and dessert.
I hope you were able to enjoy time with someone you love!
