What I’m Enjoying Lately
Freak snow. I busted out laughing when I opened the back door to find it snowing at the end of March! We ended up with nearly 4 inches of snow by the morning.
A puppy that likes playing in the snow is fun, too. No offense, Stella.
House plants. I never thought I would like having plants inside. I was always afraid they'd make the house buggy or dirty. But now that we've acquired a few, I've found I really like them!
My friend, Jonathan, got me this beautiful orchid for my birthday. I hope I can take care of it!
Accent color. Our living room has been filled with warm colors (orange & brown) for a long time. We finally took the plunge and started incorporating a bit of turquoise into the room (great idea, Kate!) It's such a fun, modern pop.
Combining our hobbies. The difference in our work schedules means Kate & I have limited time together. However, we've been finding creative ways to maximize that time. For instance, Kate's football team practices several times a week at a park nearby. The park has great running trails, so although we're not really interacting, I like to get my runs in while she's practicing. Plus, I get the chance to watch a bit of their scrimmaging. I've also discovered that there is free wifi in the lounge where Kate plays indoor soccer. Now I can blog while watching her games! The fact that they serve beer doesn't hurt, either.
Tablecloths. I bought this tablecloth on a whim when I found it on sale for $10 at Target. I love the look of a wooden dining room table, so I wasn't sure if I could bring myself to cover it up. However, Kate found the tablecloth and put it on while I was at work. I'm so glad because now I love it! It really brightens and softens our dark dining room. Plus I really like the subtle print.
Puppy tricks. Barley finally knows how to sit! We were starting to worry that he'd never get the hang of it. He also asks to go outside...most of the time. We have to work on not jumping up on people and walking on a leash. Right now, walking 2 dogs with 2 leashes is a feat in acrobatics.
This print. I got it for Kate for our anniversary and it makes me giggle every time I see it. And I'm loving the bright yellow frame I found for it (at Target.)
What are you enjoying lately?
