Watch It Grow!
Oh my goodness, it is so nice out today! Kate and I spent the morning tidying up the house and then doing some yard work. It was actually a pleasure because the weather is so beautiful.
I worked on the garden while Kate mowed the lawn.
A few weeks ago we planted squash, zucchini, carrots, parsley, cilantro, chives, and 2 kinds of lettuce outside. They are all peaking up through the soil.
This lettuce just makes me giddy!
We started tomatoes, peppers, beans, and basil inside. Today I had to transfer them, and I was so nervous that I'd crush the delicate little plants.
Let's hope they make it through!
Our irises bloomed this week, too. Kate's aunt gave her some bulbs earlier this year, and I totally forgot that we'd have flowers this spring. I'm just so amazed when things actually grow...it's not like we know what we're doing or anything!
Speaking of growing, look at how big Barley has gotten! He weighs twice as much as Stella now.
Remember when he was just a teeny little guy?!
Yeah, me neither.
Happy Saturday, everyone!

Hi Eva! I’m glad you are reading my posts! I will ask my mom for the photos of your garden. I never thought to grow broccoli! Our tomato plants are still pretty small. If they don’t take off here soon, we may have to buy some additional plants to supplement. I can’t go all summer without tomatoes! Love you!

I know what you mean about grocery store tomatoes being crap…I’d rather not eat tomatoes at all if they are mealy and tasteless – yuck! I’m glad you have a garden going! I’ll ask my mom for the pictures. And you are welcome in my guest room any time! Love you!
