Wedding Wednesday – What Do We Register For?
I broke a dish this weekend. It was a bowl. It was full of Thai food. I dropped it on the hardwood floor in the den.
(sigh)
I said a few choice words and cleaned it up while Kate wrangled the dogs outside for me.
I hate breaking dishes. I'm guessing no one really likes it, but I think I hate it more than most. I know the bowl itself wasn't worth anything. I got the set of dishes on clearance for $19.99 at Urban Outfitters many, many years ago. Like when I was in college. But I liked them. And I hate that now I only have 3 bowls that match.
So, I should probably get some new dishes.
But the thing is, we have pretty much everything we need. We've lived together for nearly 6 years, so we're pretty well settled. In fact, I've started to worry that we'll have nothing to register for for our wedding. When we discovered last Christmas Eve, while attempting to serve dinner for 5, that we only have dishes in sets of 4, I was excited to finally have something to add to our wish list. But now the question is, can I live for next 9 months with only 3 matching bowls?!
Barley must have noticed these kinds of things stress me out. To give us more things to register for, he has chewed through 2 sets of sheets and our duvet. What a guy.

I think it’s worse when it’s just the 3 of you, partly because when I’m there I just get him to chew on your hair instead. Human hair is 4 x stronger than cotton fibers.

He wouldn’t eat his food when you were gone so I taught him to eat sheets. My bad.

We had that problem too-we have a tiny apt and don’t need a single thing. We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond as they have a cash refund policy for registries.
We are still left with gifts that we got that weren’t on the registry and there is no gift receipt. I’m very thankful for the gifts-I just have to find the space for them!
