I love to travel, but it definitely wears on me. I had no idea how happy I'd be to be in my own house right now. I'm sure this does not surprise my mom at all. Apparently when I was young I'd love to go on vacation and to go camping...until it was time for bed. Then I'd start asking for MY bed. Or perhaps demanding it. I don't remember throwing a fit, but I wouldn't put it past me. What can I say, I know what I want.

However, I think I have conquered my jet lag. I am one happy girl after having slept in my own bed, showered in a regular sized shower, brushed my teeth with running water (we had to use bottled water in Istanbul which got old REAL fast), eaten breakfast that was cooked in my own kitchen - by my wonderful wife who also unpacked our big suitcase while I was sleeping, and downed a few cups of coffee. Now I'm almost positive it's 11:00 AM, and I'm ready to get back to my regular life.

I don't want to go too crazy with talk of our trip, but I do want to share some pictures of our adventures in Istanbul. I only have a few hundred more to go through... I also need to share some of the professional wedding pictures that we got back! They are a-maz-ing. And I'd like to give an update on the wedding announcement petition front. We conveniently skipped town just as things were blowing up, and I'm not quite sure how they'll continue. However, there have definitely been some developments since I last posted about it. So that's what I have planned for the next few days. Hooray for a regular internet connection!

Last but not least, we need to go pick up our puppies!! I'm probably going to cry when I see them. Seriously. We watched an episode of the show Up All Night on the plane yesterday which happened to have a puppy in it, and Kate was afraid that I was going to lose my shit. I had noise-cancelling headphones on, so I couldn't really tell how loudly I was squealing. Whatever, that pup was cute.

But I can't leave with posting NO pictures, so here are a few. Man, this feels like it was so long ago!

Boardwalk on the rocky beach.

Sunrise over the sea.

Can you believe this is a complimentary hotel breakfast?!

I like to pose in front of doors.

Turkish coffee

For real.

We went to a Morrissey concert at an outdoor venue in Istanbul. So cool.

The main event!

Perhaps we're a bit wedding-ed out...

Katie always makes friends with the tallest people around.
